Hi johnron, and welcome to the forum, sorry to hear about your mental health and about your sister, that’s a lot to deal with.
I can understand why you’d be worried about taking steroids on your own, especially if your sugars are already hard to control and you’re not feeling well. It sounds like you just want to be safe and properly looked after.

Hi @johnron I am so sorry for the loss of your sister. It must be very difficult for you to deal with.
If you do not feel safe taking the steroids without supervision and you get any worse it would be best if you went to A&E to see what help they can offer you.
Please take care of yourself.

Sorry @johnron I misunderstood what you had said. I did not realise that it was the hospital that wanted you to take the steroids at home.
Could you perhaps have a chat with your GP and ask if there is any service that could help you and monitor your blood levels while you are taking the steroids. (District Nurses)
I can understand why you would feel unsafe just to do on your own.
Take care.

Hi @johnron, I'm so sorry to hear you lost your sister and how hard things have been since. Being without a medication plan must be scary. As Bluebell mentioned, maybe the GP surgery could help you monitor things. Do you feel you'd be able to speak to another doctor or nurse at the surgery to see if they can come up with a plan you're more comfortable with?
Are you coping okay at home? If you could do with some extra help, you could try asking for a needs assessment.
Hope things start to improve for you soon.
