Housing officer visit

Hello everyone hope you all are doing well 
I need some help please if you can answer 
Today morning around 9:30am 2 housing officer came from council to visit my property and wanted to check the id and etc etc and said they wanna make sure who is living in 
is that something they do or was it something else ?

    Possibly a random check, yeah. Did you ask to see their ID to make sure they were from the council? I had a visit like this a while back where they completed a household information survey. Mine was notified by letter in advance first though.

    Yes they showed their id but they didn’t send me any letters or appointment 
    that’s why I’m confuse :neutral:

    Did you ask why they were visiting? Only they can tell you why.

    As long as they were who they said they were which obviously they must have been if you looked at their ID, then I can’t see the problem. I don’t believe there is a law that states you have to have prior notice.

    I was sleeping and they ring the bell I open the door and asked them to came in they saw recent letter and my id and my kids id she asked few personal details names etc etc and took passport pictures and ask me to sign at the end that’s it they didn’t see anything from living room to out That’s it 
    i dnt know I’m confuse 😒

    I don’t really understand the confusion. Sounds like they were doing on the spot checks. They were more than likely bringing their records up to date and wanted to confirm your identity. They have a legal obligation to ensure these records are up to date and verified.

    I don’t understand the confusion either. When I’ve rented from social housing in the past I’ve had random checks like this without being notified before the visit. 
    If you want to know why they visited you need to ring them.

    Hopefully it was just a check to confirm who lives with you @skhan95 :) Are you feeling a bit better about it now? I can imagine it might have felt a bit worrying to have someone turn up unannounced.

    I'm getting bullied, harrassed and descriminated against by my housing officers. They want to visit but give no reasons as to why.

    I have explained I am terminally ill (dying) and that they are making me more ill but alas they don't care.

    I'm getting advice from McMillan, CAB and if anyone can give me further advice I would be most appreciative.

    I want to die in peace and get my house in order without the gestapo visiting for no reason what so ever.

    In what way are they bullying, harrassing and descriminating against you? What are they doing?

    This was one of the worst things back when I was a HA tenant (up to about the second week of last May from August 2006), support staff who kept sending me messages saying they were coming for a visit but never actually turned up, despite me making specific arrangements to be in when they did.

    If I could've, I'd have moved out on principle way back in 2011 when what was the "Cluster" project lost its funding from the local Council.

    And don't even get me started about the guy who was assigned to be my "keyworker", he was frequently on annual leave when he was scheduled for visits, I eventually reported him, not that the Office did anything! About as much use as a flippin' cardboard Teapot.

    I'm so sorry to hear this, have you made a complaint? It is good that you have reached to CAB too. There is some information about complaining about a council or housing association here that I hope may be helpful.

    Remember that you do not have to open the door to strangers. Talk behind a chain or from a window. If you are not up to it then don’t let anyone inside that has arrived unannounced. Do not be harrassed in your own home. In this day and age ID cards can be easily forged. If you are unsure ring up the housing to confirm identity. Likewise with anyone waving ID, be sure, be safe.
