Feeling drained and unwell from my PIP reassessment with HAAS Serco.

Hi everyone,
I really need some support and to share what I’ve been going through, because it’s making me feel so ill and completely drained.

I’ve had PIP since 2020 and my last review was a paper‑based review, which went absolutely fine. Nothing about my condition has improved since then in fact, things have become harder so I really didn’t expect any major issues this time.

Out of nowhere, HAAS Serco contacted me and I was pushed into a telephone assessment, even though this format isn’t suitable for me and I explained that. I wasn’t offered any alternative, and the whole experience left me stressed, overwhelmed and exhausted.

What’s making this even worse is that they are now asking for my GP report again, even though they’ve already had it in the past. I don’t understand why I’m being made to repeat everything and chase evidence they already had from my previous review. It feels like they don’t read the information properly or take my situation seriously.

This whole process is really taking a toll on my health. I feel worn down, anxious, and honestly not sure how much more of this I can cope with. It shouldn’t be this difficult, especially when my last paper‑based review was straightforward and nothing has changed for the better.

Has anyone else been through something similar with HAAS Serco, being pushed into an unsuitable assessment or being asked for evidence they’ve already had? Any advice or reassurance would mean a lot right now.

Thank you for reading.

I always treat my review like a new claim as im not sure if they go off previous information it is so so draining but the more information they have is good for your claim so maybe its a good thing thier asking for gp report i know it doesnt feel that way at rhis moment in time but im sure someone else will know about reasonable adjustments regarding telephone assessments ect i hope this passes quick for you

    Hi,

I am trying to cope with things but thank you for asking.

I have not had much progress and put in a complaint due to the way I have been treated.

    Thanks

Thank you for the update @robinssuk2012, good on your for putting a complaint in. It sounds like it has been a very distressing time.

Hi @robinssuk2012 I hope you’re okay and sending a lot of warmth to you. Really hope your award gets approved and you can continue receiving your PIP support. I’m about to start my own review and I would also feel distressed and sensing a trap if I was being called out of the blue asking for documents they’d already have. I do worry they try to find ways to deny us support but your GP should really back you over them as your their patient and they’ll care more for you and your welfare 🙏🏼
