Hi, I've updated uc with rent increase today and I won't be entitled to the housing cost element. But my statement is due tomorrow. Will this effect payment

I'm confused, if you are renting (presumably in social housing) why won't you be entitled to Housing Element?

Hi I earn too much for the housing element. I only get a small amount

UC works by adding up entitlements, then making any deductions.
Once a claimant reports a rent change in social housing, UC then contact the landlord direct to confirm what you've told them is correct.
So UC won't be able to process a change in your Housing Element before your statement tomorrow. You will get your normal payment at the normal time.
If any money is owed once they've processed the change, a letter will be added to your Journal stating the amount owed due to underpayment and a new version of the statement added. The money will be paid within a few working days.
