Rent rise and uc

The new UC rates are here
Excluding Housing Element you won't see the rise in any other UC elements until a full assessment period has passed, counting from today.
So with my AP of 26th-25th I don't see any elements (excluding Housing Element) go up until my May 28 statement paid on June 2nd.
26th March - 25 April: Partial Assessment Period following rise, paid at old rate
26th April - 25th May: Full AP following rise & paid at new rate.
I still get 12 payments at the higher rate, I just have to wait a bit longer for them to start.

In addition to what Kimi said, if you migrated from legacy benefits and get Transitional Protection then your payments won't go up. In fact, your payment will go down slightly, as some of the TP goes to the rent increase.

Thought I'd write here as opposed to starting new thread if that's ok.
Are we supposed to get a text message or email to remind us to do this? I supplied evidence to my local housing office about 3 weeks ago then logged in this morning to UC and there was the prompt.
I had no idea I had to tell them of rent increase as assumed they'd know as is annual thing.

Yes you are supposed to notify UC of any rent increases.
Yes you should get a notification from UC but this doesn't always seem to happen.

Yes that's true as didn't happen for me, I didn't know that it happens on April 6th was just coincidence that I logged in and saw it. Thanks.

The exact date will vary slightly each year.

Very confused, just had a message on uc journal about my rent. Which they put is lower than what my housing association told me. The maintenance charge is right and they said it was for the 1st Apr when I was told the 6th

Checked in the early a.m, nothing on my journal, looked at 8.15am and the prompt was there. So added my new rent amount.

Have you someone in your life that would act as your appointee?
It would save the trauma that dealing directly with DWP causes you.

Apparently you need to put service charge and rent separately..
I'm concerned that I didn't get a text about rent increase as I could've not known anything about it and therefore been a problem
