Dearest gentle reader, disabled people can be romantic leads too ❤️

Bridgerton has been a pioneering series in its commitment to on-screen inclusivity.

But as we look forward to the future, could the next series feature someone disabled more prominently? Could we see a lead character with a condition or impairment?

This author certainly hopes so.

    This would be fab! It would be lovely to see a proper romantic lead be just as dishy and desirable as the non-disabled characters. I think Bridgerton would be a great place for it too. With other period series, they might be caught up with staying historically accurate, but Bridgerton is so firmly in the fantasy history camp that it would work perfectly.

    I liked the way that they handled Gracie McGonigal's character Hazel this season. Her limb difference was acknowledged, but not from a position of pity - it was just part of her. I hope it's something they'll do more of in future seasons.
