Mps - email your MP about PIP before the elections

Well done on your success MW123, maybe I am just a poor advocate, or do ministers have a separate contact address for contacting them as a minister?

I think it does help emailing mps silence to them is acceptance and look back on history its taken brave people to take a stand and speak up as the ruling class really dont want that at least we are still able to do this noting will ever change if people dont use thier voice they may not read ever email but they will know three thousand emails was regarding pip cuts look at ireland they are rightly fighting for thier rights no one can tell me how many emails i send im trying to make a difference oh pixie gets me up every morning at 5am little minx x

I think this is an excellent point @SoapySoutar. 200 emails from one person is much less effective then 1 email each from 200 people.
Is there a limit on how many times someone can respond? If anything, @SoapySoutar’s message supports your point, it suggests that the more people who email, the better. If only a couple of people email, even if they do so a hundred times each, that’s far less effective than 100 different people each sending an email.

I am beginning to wonder whether some reactions are shaped more by who makes a comment than by the content of the comment itself.

It sounds as though you have a wonderful MP @MW123. The workshops sound excellent, were they well attended?
I received a generic response from mine, but that hasn’t put me off sharing my thoughts. I see it as at least creating a record of opposition and concern.

I think you have hit the nail on the head pass go and collect 200 pounds

Thank you again @Catherine21 for the Thread and for sharing the nature of the important, various issues you raised, each important in their own right, whether relating directly to PIP, or not.
I agree with @MW123 and would simply add I received a handful of replies. Had my constituency MP not responded they'd have most certainly been sent a follow up letter. And so on and so forth. So also would anybody else who may hold responsibility for what I was raising and chose to ignore.
I don't know where the '200 emails sent to one person' has come from but I'll personally choose to ignore more fanciful notions and stick to the suggestion Catherine makes in her original post, otherwise we risk the Thread being closed. It is too important for that to happen or to disect posters writing style or genuine, good intentions.

Yes, the in person meetings were well attended, though the online Teams meetings had even better attendance for those who could not attend in person due to disability. It’s good that you have shared your views with your MP as well, the more voices recorded, the stronger the overall picture of public concern.

You are absolutely right to focus on Catherine’s original point, contacting our MPs. That’s what this thread is really about.
You make an important point, if an MP’s office doesn’t respond initially, it’s worth following up. Our voices matter, and they shouldn’t be ignored, particularly when the government is actively inviting people to share their views.
I think we all want the same thing, to ensure disabled people’s experiences and needs are properly represented. The more of us who reach out, the harder it becomes for those messages to be overlooked. This is far too important a subject to be derailed, there is far too much at stake.
For anyone who prefers not to contact their MP directly, the anonymous survey remains an option, ensuring that everyone has a way to contribute to this important discussion.

When this happens on every post i do it becomes more targeted not everyone agrees this is correct but for months ive had the same three people constantly target my posts was feeling mord like trolling so i hope this makes it more clearer to you good day

whilst i agree that emailing your mp is a good way to get your point across i would also say that multiple emails from the same person has a higher chance of being detected as spam and being filtered out and not being read but each to there own way of thinking

Thanks for sharing the survey @MW123, I'd forgotten about that although, for me personally, I have never shied away from putting my name to any of my letters to MPs etc. regardless of any perceived consequences. I will not be cowed, nor silenced. Everyone's voice matters and can make a difference.
I absolutely understand though why people may prefer to remain anonymous and they should have that option for sure. Their contribution is as important and valid as the next person.

You can use the 'ignore' function mentioned in the community guidelines so you don't see their posts/comments.

Hello @Santosha12, I was using it as an example to explain my point, it wasn’t meant as a dig, and I wasn’t suggesting that anyone here has personally sent 200 emails. I’m sorry if it came across that way.

Rather than it being targeted, could it be that this is a relatively small forum with core groups of active members who tend to respond to most posts? As you post and reply quite frequently across the forum, it's natural that you'll get more responses in general, including from people who may not always agree with you. It might feel repetitive, but that doesn't mean it's intentional or personal.

Thank you @Emilee but no apology needed. We're all on the same side I'm sure 🫠😊.

That's kind of what I've been trying to say all along, I think perhaps I don't always word things in the best way as I don't seem to get my message across a lot of the time. Thank you for your understanding 🫠.

Good afternoon. I'm temporarily pausing this discussion for review. I will aim to get it re-opened later today.
