PIP stopped for 3rd time after years of successful claims - Need Advice

  • Hi everyone, my name is Jay. I'm looking for some help and support regarding my Personal Independence Payment (PIP).
  • My PIP has just been stopped for the third time now. This is despite me having had a successful claim for a number of years and passing my pre-assessment. This time, they have failed my claim

completely and I'm at a loss as to why.

Has anyone else dealt with their award being stopped repeatedly like this? I'd really appreciate any advice on how to challenge this or if there are specific things I should be looking for in the decision letter. Thanks in advance!

    Hi and welcome to the community.

    I don't know what a "pre-asessment" is and you say you are at a complete loss as to why your pip has been stopped.

    If you haven't already done so you need to obtain a copy of the assessors report to see why you failed to get enough points for an award to be made then you can challenge it if you disagree with the reasoning.

    Unfortunately its not unusual for pip awards to be lowered or stopped after a reassessment and success rates at mandatory reconsideration are relatively low but higher at tribunals.

    Not many members are here overnight but I'm sure someone experienced will offer you advice tomorrow.

    Hi @Adhdcrazyjay, some helpful advice from @luvpink there. It's important to gain the copy of the report etc so you can understand why.
