Removal of Transitional Protection and Housing question.
Hello, I recently got my statement from UC yesterday and I am £100+ worse off as TP has just been removed and I really have no idea why that is. Does anybody know why?
Also, I have had a change of circumstance to my housing, which I don't know if that is the reason, but it means UC are now paying more money to my landlord. Would this be the reason?
I have also a spare bedroom, and my flat is deemed as "private rented stock" under a social housing provider, so I have bedroom tax. I applied for the DHP and it has been quickly accepted and they are also paying £x towards my arrears with my landlord. However, UC are still paying arrears to my landlord and have asked them to stop because they DHP are paying some of it, would they stop this?
The removal of TP and paying £40 to my landlord, plus advance payments, leaves me £300/month to live on!
Would anyone be able to help?
Thanks.

Yes, any increase in Housing Element will cause a corresponding decrease to your Transitional Protection. If the increase is equal to or bigger than your TP, then it will end.
The best thing you can do is look at your previous statement and this latest one, and compare the amount for each element to see why your Transitional Protection has ended.

What i been reading is over course of time will amount to 800 to match universal credit so they halved for new claimants and loss for exsisting claimants

@NewTime, are you saying your TP element has been removed entirely, or just reduced due to a rent increase elsewhere? Unless your rent increased by that amount, it would be unusual for your TP award to stop completely. Have there been any other recent changes to your account?

Hi, my rent has increased more than the TP, so it would seem that this is the reason I have had TP removed.
UC are paying some arrears to my landlord and I have asked them to stop as I have received help from council and got DHP.
