Hi wondered if you can let me know if income support are allowed to take money out of my pip? Even though iv claimed income support for years and still claim it,
Since July they have been taking £45 out of pip, ive never had a letter to say they are or what for. I get enhanced on both parts. And if I owe them why aren't they taking it out of income support. Hope you can help because ringing benefits agency I get nowhere other than getting upset and frustrated
Thanks

PIP is a non means tested benefit.
    Has anything else changed ?

I suggest that you get trained advice from CAB or similar
or ring the scope help line

Nothing else changed with benefits I only want to know why? And if allowed? And if I owe income support why don't they deduct out of it, not my pip. Thank you

Hi @louise79, I'm sorry to hear about this. Hopefully a benefits advisor will be in touch ASAP with some more guidance for you.

    Hi louise79,

If you have an overpayment or a loan that needs to be paid back it should be deducted out of your Income Support, not your PIP. There's no answer to this other than contacting IS and PIP and getting to the bottom of it. If you feel that you can't do it yourself you could do with seeing a benefits advisor face to face in the area where you live so they can make the calls on your behalf and find out what is going on. All the best.
