Applying for ESA for the first time for bad mental health
hello all new here was wondering if anyone can help Iam waiting on the heath assignment for the new style ESA I done paperwork never done this before as my lad always work full time he gone part time my doctor s giving me years fit not as I have really bad mental health just wondering if anyone else in same boat

Hi @Bluebell84 and welcome to the community. Are you waiting for a work capability assessment? It's good that your GP is giving you a long fit note so you can focus on yourself. Do you have any mental health support at the moment?

Hi,
Have you worked within the past 2 years? If not, you won't generally be entitled to New Style ESA.
If you have less than £16,000 between yourself and your partner then you should apply for Universal Credit instead.

we get uc he work s part time because of this i was told to look for work yes I have lot support I just can’t work this why doctor s give me year sick note Thanks for replying guys

and yes Iam waiting for the assessment to see wich group I put the paper work in but head northing yet I have phone appointment with Uc next week
