Hi @mandypaul and welcome to the community. I'm so sorry to hear about your husband and that you're being evicted. I can't imagine how stressful this is for the both of you. I've found some information about Section 21s and how you could stay in the property after the 2 month notice period from your landlord is up https://england.shelter.org.uk/housing_advice/eviction/section_21_eviction/staying_after_a_section_21_notice

Have you spoken to your landlord about your situation? Maybe they can come to an agreement with you so you don't have to move until you're ready?

So sorry you're both in this situation.

A Section 21 is only a request to leave. Only you or a court can end the tenancy.

First you need to check whether the S21 is valid. If it's not, you don't need to do anything and can just ignore it. Shelter has good advice to help you work this out. The article Rachel linked is a good starting point.

Given the landlord is clearly issuing this S21 while they're still legal (they won't next next week), it's more likely he's made mistakes.

If it is valid, the courts are so heavily backed up; it'll take well over a year for you to get evicted. it's possible your husband will pass away before you're evicted.

Regardless of whether the S21 is valid, you'll have housing security for a while as long as you keep paying the rent.
