Waiting time PIP
Hello again, sorry to be a pain everyone but I was just wondering roughly how long on average does it take to have a decision on a PIP claim . I first applied beginning Jan this year , it’s almost May , I’ve had my assessment a couple of weeks ago and confirmation of written report , according to that it could be another 7 weeks ! Please don’t ask me to ring , I’m far too anxious and don’t like speaking too much on the fone , I guess I’ll have to take my turn and be patient. Thank you all .

You're not a pain it took me a few months (roughly 2) for PIP to sort everything out with me for my appointment then a further month before they accepted and gave me my claim. I'm unsure of the current wait times but that letter stating 7 weeks should be around the time they'll get back to you. You can also send a letter to PIP or ask someone else to contact them on your behalf to ask for any further timeframes. I hope it works out for you.

Thank you for the reply and taking the time . It’s a long drawn out process isn’t it , quite frustrating when we’re waiting for answers but it is what is , I guess there could be a backlog which is understandable and I’m sure it’ll happen eventually.

Hi @Toppy64. The wait times can vary quite a lot unfortunately. It should be within 12 weeks, but it's been taking longer. I hope it comes through soon.

thank you so much, I’ll let you know when I know .. could be a while ! Fingers crossed for a positive result, we’ll see although I’m pretty sure I’ve tripped up on the assessment.. the stress of it all and being under such pressure at the time amplifies anxiety. However let’s hope .

Hello again, had a text this morning saying that they haven’t made a decision on my claim yet , is this a standard text or does it mean something else ? probably my mind working overtime and overthinking. So stressful.

Hi @Toppy64, that's just a standard text so it doesn't mean anything more than what it says. It's such a stressful process, isn't it? Hope you get your result through soon.
