Waiting for tribunal - does renewal in January 2027 impact this?

Hello, just looking for some advice. My PIP appeal was received by the courts Nov 2024 and I was told to wait for a date. I still haven’t had anything. I did call the court system to make sure I was on the list and they did confirm that. If anyone in West Sussex has had a hearing and has any idea of time frames I would appreciate it.

However, the main reason I’m asking for help is that in January 2027 my PIP claim runs out. How do I go about renewing and how long should far in advance should I renew? Does renewing impact the tribunal I’m waiting for? How does it work if you renew and you're still waiting for a tribunal? Finally, godfobid I apply again and am refused or not given enough and have to go back to tribunal how does that work if I still have a tribunal outstanding?

Any help or advice would be appreciated, thank you!

    Hi,

As you have a current PIP claim, you should be sent review forms around 8 months before the end date.

The new decision overrides the existing one. But your current tribunal will still go ahead for the time period of that claim. (So for example, Nov '24 to Jan '27).

You are allowed to start another appeal for the later claim if you lose the award at review, but that would create more complication so hopefully it doesn't come to that.
