Carers allowance deductions from uc

Just wondering if anyone has any idea how uc work out the deduction and the amount they deduct for carers allowance.

    Hi @carcari, carer's allowance usually deducted pound-for-pound from your UC payment. So the same amount that you receive from Carer's Allowance is taken off your UC. It should hopefully be shown on your UC statement if you have access to that ☺️

    I thought that seems to be a massive error on there side as they've been deducting to much 🤔

    That doesn't sound good! It's definitely worth asking them if you feel it's not being deducted correctly. Hope you can get it all sorted!

    Hi,

    Carers Allowance deduction is currently around £360 per person. That will increase slightly next month due to the rates increase.

    Bear in mind UC is calculated monthly, and CA is calculated weekly. There are more than 4 weeks in a calendar month which can make the UC deductions look wrong.
