in Start here and say hello!

Another night of insomnia and endless scrolling of social media. However, tonight was slightly different when coming across an advert for ‘Scope’. I read, digested and here I am all signed up and saying hello. Looking forward to reading and interacting with you all very soon.

    Hi @66Mustang astronomy and astrophotographery is my main interest. Owing to the problem of light pollution here in the UK, I remotely access the robotic telescopes in the US. Access to these is provided by NASA MicroObservatory. Fascinating results so far.

    @CosmicDust that sounds interesting!!

    I've never heard of astrophotographery but I'm assuming it's one of those things that is what it sounds like. When I was 7 or so I was given a telescope by my uncle - a rather good one, he was a scientist - and I tried taking a picture of the moon by putting my camera up to the eyepiece and taking photos. This was in the dark ages when you didn't get to see what you'd just photographed…needless to say I sent the film off to be developed (I'm sure my mum will have tried to explain to me that there was no point) and received 30 6x4 black rectangles in the post, with no moon to be seen. I'm sure what you do is a little more advanced 😆
