Website accessibility barriers - Questionnaire

Cool! I was just this morning moaning about how lots of website are not applicable with my disability settings (no motions, animations, etc. for me), while weirdly some smaller projects that run on a tiny budget (like the fishdoorbell) do have a proper set-up that are according with my needs.
But then again - more philosophical - most things/standards/people in our current society are not willing/emphatic/supportive with what might be helpful for someone with difficulties.

Thanks for the reminder - I could not remember the thread title but I've now completed your survey.
Thanks 66Mustang. I'm still avoiding the questionnaires for reasons I'm sure you'll understand if you also experience PDA. Never heard of this before joining the forum and it's about time I looked into it because I do this a lot.
How did you find the survey? I didn't like the motion in the background and said so. It was enough to want to finish quickly and not answer the final question in depth.
I think this is what SmellyBin is describing above: (no motions, animations, etc. for me)

I’m not sure if this is typical but I get PDA much more with multi-step tasks, especially when the steps can’t all be completed in succession without pausing. If one of those steps is not fully within my control that also contributes, too.
I read about something called the Ovsiankina effect, an urge to complete unfinished tasks. An idea is that an unfinished task causes cognitive dissonance (an intrusive thought, a kind of psychological discomfort) leading to a compulsion to finish the task to resolve the discomfort. To me it’s analogous to having an itch and scratching it to resolve the discomfort.
With that in mind I sometimes wonder if PDA in certain individuals is because we know we won’t be able to finish that loop straight away. It might be a case of avoiding the dissonance, rather than the effort of the task itself?
A really everyday example for me is making a hot drink. I’d be more likely to put off going to make tea, even though it doesn’t require any more effort than coffee. It involves the niggle of having an unfinished task while I wait for it to brew - which isn’t within my control to speed up.
