Hi all.

I suffer from CPTSD and ill health retired but on some benefits.

I have been feeling really guilty getting benefits and all you hear on tv is benefit scroungers getting money for nothing. Long story short read a blog on here about others in a similiar situation. Its helped me realise im not alone 🙏

    No you’re not alone there’s loads of us out there with so much to offer but exhausted by the world around us (for me at least)

    Hi @MasterQ welcome to the Community. I hope you enjoy your time on the forum. Any questions just ask.

    Just ignore what you hear on TV having a disability and ill health does not make us benefit scroungers.

    You are not alone you are now part of Scope On Line Community, which is friendly and supportive forum.

    Take care.

    @MasterQ

    Hi welcome to the community.

    I had to take early ill health retirement after having worked for several years in a professional career.

    I too claim some benefits and I tend to ignore the nasty negative view points about claimants and try to stay positive despite my many health issues and disability.

    Its lovely to have you here.

    Take care.

    Hi @MasterQ and welcome to the community. I'm sorry you feel that way. I completely understand as it's difficult to hear about 'benefit scroungers' and not think that they mean us. Disability benefits are to help pay for extra costs involved in having a disability, it's definitely not money for nothing. Please try not to worry about what some people think 😊
