Why are autistic people treated differently when it comes to impulsivity?

If an autistic person is impulsive sexual wise and is a sex addict why are they treated differently rather than if a typical person was a sex addict?

In what way are they treated differently? I wouldn't have thought it is, unless you mean autistic people being given more leeway and understanding?
