UC / transitional protection
I get high pip on both . My partner is my full time carer he gets carers allowance. He gets standard pip. We have a joint LCWRA
My question is we noticed today for this month statement that big dip of £50 has come down transitional protection, we know it’s meant to come down over time. But definitely not a drop like that. I was under impression it was a gradual decrease not sudden. Anyone had similar?

Hi,
That big dip is normal after the April rates change.
Some extra now gets paid from Carers Allowance which is taken from TP.
Some extra is paid for UC and LCWRA, which gets taken from TP.
And if you've had a rent increase as well, that gets taken from TP.
The same will happen every year when the rates increase.

thank you I think understand now. They don’t half make it complicated for everyone.
