Hi @madchris55 perhaps you should look for friendship first and see how that develops.

Do you go anywhere to meet people like clubs or social meetings. Your local council should have a list of what is available in your area.

    Please take care of yourself.

Hi @Strawberry1 I hope you are doing ok?

    Take care.

I would definitely agree with Bluebell. Dating sites are perhaps only going to cause you hurt; it's more a livestock market, and plays on our less desirable traits.

Making a friend would be nice, even if nothing further develops.

    Hi

Personally I wouldn't use dating sites.

I would try meeting people in a natural , environment, develop friendships and find things you have in common, then see if things develop into romance.

    I'd suggest https://outsiders.org.uk
Dating run by disabled people for disabled people.
Outsiders has been going for over 40 years..

They used to run several lunches where people with meet, as well as workshops on dating, etc.. I know the London lunch is just about ticking over. When I lived in London I was able to date several lovely people over the years

More recently I came across this organisation.. Similar sort of stuff.. https://enhancetheuk.org/sex-and-disability/

The majority of dating sites/apps are a scam IMO, £20 for 150 credits at 20 credits per message? Eh?

I joined 'Outsiders' a number of years ago, and Tuppy sold it to me as a dating site. This seemed to be news to many of the lady members!

I imagine it was originally, before it all went online.

Outsiders was has evolved. It seemed to work better when there were regular socials, people could actually meet. I joined when it was still on paper for the listings! :)

A lot of the regulars in London have either moved or some sadly passed away.

I find dating apps aren't really for finding love, most people want very casual relations.

So I'm waiting at the shop for my ebike tire to be fixed, reading this thread, when I look up and see a suggestion. No app needed. Just plop on this hat..... 😊

I would guess mainly young people want casual sex, I would want the full package every time.

Is OUTSIDERS still going - I joined 30 years ago and met a few women - unfortunately none worked out - I went on holiday with one - I know that Tuppy died 12 months ago and have no idea if the club is still running ?

The S word would be a nice extra, I just want to sit and have a cosy chat with a nice lady aged between 45 and 55, someone who's not Mum or a support worker basically.

Over a coffee in a nice Bar, or even a couple of Pints if she fancies it.

We need to give charities a valuable idea to encourage them to open their own dating site. Another idea is to negotiate with dating site owners in other countries to create a UK section.
You could also go out and try to meet people yourself if you can.
