Really proud of myself, I put together a metal raised bed,I got from amazon, and put some compost in, and planted the green runner beans plants , I grew from seed.had them on my window sill first. Then put them in slightly bigger pots into my small plastic green house and planted them out. Put copper tape round the bed to hopefully stop any slugs

That sounds exciting @Andi66 you must feel a great sense of achievement growing things from seed.

Nothing quite like eating food you have grown yourself.

I have fond memories of digging the best new potatoes for tea and picking a few precious blackcurrants and gooseberries each year 😍

The best companion plants for runner beans are

sweet peas (to attract pollinators), nasturtiums (to draw aphids away), and summer savory or marigolds. These companions help maximize harvests by naturally boosting pollination and shielding your beans from common pests.

I went to B&M on Friday to get some new plants for the garden. I really love the colour of the pinky/purple ones on the left!

A ground-level shot of a backyard patio against a wooden fence. On the left is a large, light-orange terracotta pot filled with a vibrant green plant sporting multiple tall, fuzzy, bright magenta plumes. To the right is another terracotta-colored pot containing small, dark green foliage with delicate white and purple flowers, flanked by two small solar panels propped on its rim. In the center, sitting directly on the hexagonal concrete patio stones, are two whimsical garden ornaments: a pair of wide-eyed gray owls on a small log, and a pair of brown squirrels perched together. A string of outdoor fairy lights draped in a loose wave runs across the wooden fence in the background.

The established plants are doing ok, the pots I have to water daily @Mary_Scope

Before the last couple of days of good weather we had quite a lot of rain so that has helped.

I'm not enjoying the water jets used for cleaning paving slabs around these parts. So noisy and wasteful.
