ask for more time for PIP form

Hi my pip award review came on Saturday 30th May it's got to be in for the 19th of June I think the bank holiday has caused further delays. would it be reasonable to ask for more time to fill in the form? I am also waiting to have blood test done etc. in the next few weeks with my GP due to abdominal problems etc.? Thanks

    You can ask for an extension to the deadline. This is usually granted for 4 weeks. You should telephone PIP to ask for this.

    19th of June is still over 2 weeks away.

    Blood test results are unlikely to help with PIP claims, they don't prove functional limitations.

    In this case I would say there is still plenty of time to get the forms back. But you are welcome to ask for an extension if you like.

    I just find it so stressful filling the form I have lost my pip twice and got it back one through a tribunal but since then I have finally been diagnosed with fibro which explains all my aches and chronic pain and all the other problems associated with the illness. any help and advice please, Thanks

    Hi @ketokid, I understand it's very stressful completing the forms. You can call them to ask for an extension. You need to explain why you need it and then they'll make a decision.

    Here are the numbers to call:

    Telephone: 0800 121 4433

    Textphone: 0800 121 4493

    Relay UK - if you can't hear or speak on the phone, you can type what you want to say: 18001 then 0800 121 4433

    Are you able to start completing the form? I completed mine in small bursts when I had the energy so it wasn't too overwhelming.
