Thames water help discounts

Hi everyone, I do not work due to health issues and live alone. I was getting bills of £46 a month for Thames water and I thought it was too much. I couldn’t have a meter fitted so I was on a single person tariff. I decided to call them up to see what they could do and they went through my bills and incoming money and it came down to just over £11 now I have to pay them monthly, capped down by over 60%. Just thought that I would share this if anyone should find it helpful.

This is more information on it.

Thank you for sharing this @MsR. Glad to hear you were able to get it reduced.

WaterHelp is available for anyone on a low income, not just in receipt of benefits. This is different from WaterSure.

Other water companies also offer a 50% discount on the entire bill plus any arrears you may have accumulated and is renewed automatically. My bill was adjusted on the day I made my call to Thames Water.

They also have an online calculator to show you how much water you could save.  Once completed,  you’ll get the opportunity to request water and energy saving gadgets such as tap inserts and save a flush devices.

Full details of this tariff and how to apply can be found at thameswater.co.uk.

Also, if a meter cannot be fitted, there is a single-person discount.
