Really @WelshBlue ??? Oh my goodness gracious me!!!! I absolutely adore her. Thank you. Just what I needed. You certainly know what to do when. Could you tweak it a tiny bit? Could you add a little denim and change her hair to my dream hair from chemo? Pretty please? Like the pants in this pic of me. This is just before I cut off my chemo curls because they were unravelling, naturally. I just adored those pants! And those boots. Oh, those boots. They were leather boots that I had for about 20 years. β€οΈ Is that too much to ask?

Oh, and BTW this is my chemo wig. I loved that wig! And, yeah, the flower looks silly, but I loved putting flowers in my wig and had quite the nice flower collection. π

Oh one more request??? Can you put on the t-shirt "You Can't Touch This"? It's in reference to my resilience, as well as one of my fave songs and videos from the 90s, 'You Can't Touch This' by M.C. Hammer.
If you can't do any of the modifications, that's totally okay. I love what you've done and have also enjoyed thinking of modifications. It's a really sweet note to end the day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ππΌβ€οΈ And..... π....

The raunchiness of missing pants π«ͺ How delightful! π Some of the young girls do that here now with the tops of their butt cheeks hanging out like that. I love how the extended finger has no nail polish as it makes it that much more vulgar. Lol! So "pull my finger" has a new meaning now π Again, thank you so much! Yesterday was a brutal day. You helped make today more doable.
Thank you @SheffieldMan1976 . You know, I'm feeling kind of bad about posting those shots because they're my best shots. And I'm thinking it's really whitewashing the brutal experience that cancer treatment was for me and most people. So in all fairness, I'll post some of the medium bad photos. And I'll consider posting the bad ones in the future. And also in all fairness I was brave in the depths of illness. And maybe that's who the superhero really is? Or maybe both are? As a guy knowing a lot about superheroes, what do you think?

Just before starting chemo. This is me with a friend (I edited to blur his eyes for privacy, but all my pics are always unedited unless I say otherwise)....

When my hair started falling out, my oncologist recommended (as they typically do) to shave it off. This is the last piece to go. It was absolutely horrifying. Smiles can hide so much suffering.
And this is after the shave with my cousin's son, who had survived stage 4 cancer just a couple of years before. He shaved his head in solidarity. (Edited to blur his eyes.)
Having lost all my hair to chemo...
And this next one is just before losing the last of my eyebrows and eyelashes. This is with makeup. All these pics are taken within about two months.
With smiles, hats, wigs and makeup, most people had no clue as to the suffering I was undergoing. It was another life experience to remind me that we are all suffering of something and that we don't know by looking at someone what they're going through - like we were talking about in another thread about overweight people. We just don't know.
You can't judge a book by it's cover.
To err on the side of caution, I always assume people are going through some kind of hell. Or supporting someone who is. And when I don't do that, I typically regret it.

Hi @StarryEyed you are the most courageous superhero I know.
Thank you for sharing some of your cancer journey with us. I think we can see from some of your photos what a brutal experience cancer can be.
You fought back when I am sure some days you questioned where you were getting the strength from.
You continue your fight to live your life as well as you can, to go out and socialise and with your new look from your friends wedding where you looked amazing you are an inspiration to us all.

Good morning @Bluebell21 and thank you for your kind words. My intention on posting cancer photos isn't to be seen as the most courageous, but to show that we don't know what others are going through by just looking at them, and that it is in trials that we have an opportunity to show our courage. I believe everyone in the world has superhero powers, and that each one of us has a unique power.
I believe my superpower is resilience, in that I just keep trying despite the fact that I've been very sick with one thing after another since I was a kid. And part of that resilience is my unpolished middle finger, meaning my attitude. By society's standard, by medical standards and by psychiatric standards, I am a complete failure. I have really amounted to nothing throughout my life by all accounts. A big fat zero. But there are some people who love me anyway, and I just have a belief that we all matter in this world. Every single one of us, including me. I don't always feel that about myself, but I've felt it enough to keep me alive. But I'm overall just getting weaker with every knock. I'm spent. There's a concept in ecology called 'bioaccumulation' and that's the story of my life.
A lot of us here on the forum struggle with serious illness. I love how most people in this thread don't see their superpower as having anything to do with their disability. For example, I love your superpower being your kitty Sam.
What a long, heavy post for a Sunday morning. Sorry! So very sorry! Got to brush that off by getting out for a bit of fresh air. I hope that wasn't too much for anyone. Forward march...

Safety goggles, ear defenders, face mask, reinforced elbow, knee and abdominal supports. The kit should include several dressing gowns for cold-weather Superhero duties plus a water bottle for squirting at villains!
