ABUSE OF DISABLED PEOPLE, HATE CRIMES and SMEAR CAMPAIGNS AGAINST THEM

Hi everyone, I have been gone for a couple of years now from here due to ongoing intimidation, harassment, ASB, Hate crimes, and smear campaigns against me from an entire community of neighbours since the day I moved into my bungalow almost two years ago.

I really need help, the police will do nothing, nor will my housing association. My cats have been harassed, terrified and targeted, and one even ingested poison which was left sprinkled over the grass where she always used to eat grass every day. Has anyone else been subject to this kind of thing as a disabled person and what did you do to solve it? I've called all the people like CAB, police, housing association, and victim support, and can't find a free solicitor even though I qualify for one. I have so many letters from my GP, pain management team, and specialists. And no one seems to be listening or cares. It's really tough for me right now. I started a stage 1 formal complaint to the housing Association where both my housing officers are biased towards me. I have spoken to the Ombudsman, who were helpful.

But no one seems to understand that my housing officers are so biased and have turned everything around and are actually pointing the finger at me, which is criminal and unjust and just plain wrong. Any advice would be so helpful if you have been through something like this. Thank you

    @JayJayJuliette About a year ago I told my local HA to go you know what themselves… Since the demise of what used to be known as the "Cluster" project circa October 2011, the in person support from them vanished almost literally overnight, and nearly 15 years later I finally decided enough was enough and gave the legally required 30 days notice circa mid April last year.

    It would've been 20 years in August since I moved in aged 30 years, 4 months and 2 days.

    Sad thing is, for about the first 5 years it was pretty excellent, then the "Cluster" project lost its funding from local government…

    Also, as proven by certain recent events down in Southampton, the Police are worse than useless anyway.

    To be fair to @SheffieldMan1976 Policing standards have fallen in this country. More about egos than the law now with a lot of them. Not all, but as a Disability Community … seeing viral videos of Lesbian Nana and the arrest of an Austistic girl should have had the whole Country up in arms … but nope swept under the carpet by West Yorks and the IOPC

    @JayJayJuliette … that sounds horrendous. No-one should have to live like that. Have you considered contacting your MP or the PCC of your local police to escalate a complaint

    Sorry if I've come across as rude SwiftFox as that isn't my intention, I just wanted to speak up for fairness that is all and I feel like I've been civilised about it.

    The police have completely failed me (& many other women). However, do I think they are also dealing with some very challenging work environments. YES, I do.

    I have many reasons to be angry, even bitter but things are never that simple.

    A good example, the copper who killed a women (accident-line of duty) got prison time. The little scrotes who raped those girls (children) they walked free.

    The women who ended up killing their abuser - let me tell you THEY always get really severe prison time. But, the guy who killed his partner and said it was 'rough sex' - nope, got away with it. The details of that case are so horrifying in terms of her injuries. Like WTAF.

    Yeah, so there's injustice.

    Hi @JayJayJuliette - sorry, just noticed you posting again. It's good to hear from you, but I'm so very sorry for what you've been going through since moving.

    poppy123456 hasn't been active on the forum for well over a year, as luvpink mentioned. I'm fortunate that she has become a very good friend, & we see each other often, & phone each other between our visits. I can certainly let her know you've been asking after her.

    I live in a wonderful community, which was spoilt a few years back by a new neighbour's antisocial behaviour; she targeted me first, then several of my other neighbours. I'm sorry to say it took some time to get this properly addressed by the police & she then complained completely unfairly about one of my lovely neighbours. (I live in a Park Home, & the site owner had said we needed to involve the police).

    Things changed when the neighbour opposite me captured her antisocial behaviour against his next door neighbour with his video cam. Sometimes the police are hampered by a lack of evidence, so if there's any way you could obtain this, e.g. by video cam or with your phone, this could prove helpful, & might be a starting point.

    After that the police were wonderful with me, & even gave support by phone to make sure I was OK. We now have a police car/motorbike coming around each day after the police sent everyone (for her benefit) a letter saying they wouldn't tolerate ASB.

    My son had been worried that she might leave poison out for Shadow when I made a stance against her, so I hope your cat was OK, & certainly appreciate your concern. I do hope you manage to resolve this.
