World Cup 2026 Community Sweepstake – The Teams Are In

The draw is done. Thanks to everyone who picked a number!
All numbers have now been randomly assigned a team, so this is who you’ll be backing for the World Cup.
Some of you have picked up strong contenders… while some of you have a proper underdog on your hands. Either way, it’s all to play for and the further your team goes, the more community badges you’ll win.

What you can win

You’ll earn online community digital badges depending on how your team does:

  • Participant – for taking part
  • Second Round – your team gets out of the group
  • Last 16 – your team reaches the last 16
  • Quarter-finalist – your team reaches the quarter-finals
  • Semi-finalist – your team reaches the semi-finals
  • Third-Place – your team wins the third-place playoff
  • Runner-up – your team reaches the final (but loses)
  • Champion – your team reaches the final and wins the World Cup

We’ll also have a few other light-hearted badges:

Wooden Spoon – for the earliest teams to be eliminated
Underdog Hero – if your team goes further than was reasonably expected
Heartbreak Award – if your team is knocked out on penalties or by a last minute goal

And if you fancy getting involved more…

There are also badges for joining in during the tournament:

  • Matchday Chatter – Starting or joining match discussions
  • Tournament Reporter – Sharing updates or thoughts on the tournament as it progresses
  • Fair Play Award – Keeping things friendly and supportive when discussing the World Cup

I’ll be tracking progress throughout the tournament, and badges will be handed out as your teams make their way through.
