Saturday chatter

Hi @Adrian_Scope it's been a while since I ran into you, we must be moving in different threads… how are you today?
0 -
I'm great thanks @SmellyBin, how about you?
0 -
Great sounds good @Adrian_Scope I felt (sort of) great at the beginning of the week, but today not so much LOL. But hey, I managed to take care of some of the plants… and my partner will be doing one of my fav dishes tonight: shakshuka, so it could've been worse * touches wood *.
What are you up to today? Any reading? Chocolate?

Sorry it's a rough day @SmellyBin, anything in particular?
I haven't shakshuka in years! My flatmate used to make it quite regularly but it's not something I've tried to cook myself, I just looked up a recipe and think I'll give it a go this week.
Well done on taking care of the plants, getting outside usually helps me feel a bit better and it's important to celebrate the little wins when you're feeling rubbish.
No chocolate for me, but I'm looking forward to the football tonight. Do you have anything planned for tomorrow?

I like a bit of Saturday chatter, on a Saturday 😊
@Adrian_Scope will you pause and un-pause this thread on a weekly basis or will it run and run (like the football) ?
0 -
Maybe I should rename it to Sunday tomorrow, and so on? 😉
How are you doing @WhatThe?
0 -
I vote for no change 😉
At the moment @Adrian_Scope I'm looking forward to Sunday's chatter from Guy Garvey on Radio 6 Music 😊
0 -
Sounds like a good afternoon! I only saw recently that Guy does the readings for some audiobooks and poetry collections. Have you listened to any?

Hi everyone :) haven't been on the message boards for a while…I'm having a quiet Sunday as my electric wheelchair has broken down (motors have gone for the third time 😑) but being fixed tomorrow for (hopefully!) the final time. How's everyones day going so far?
1 -
Hello, nice to see you @Elizaje1990. Fingers crossed it is an easy fix tomorrow and it's the final time it needs doing!
I've had a good day so far, a quiet one too. Have you got much planned for the week ahead?
0 -
@Adrian_Scope thankyou :) yes I volunteer for a local charity a few days a week and I'll find something good on tv. What about you?

Hello fellow Sunday loungers :)
@Elizaje1990 Good thing you're getting your stuff repaired tomorrow, hopefully it won't take too long and will not cost you an arm and a leg…
@WhatThe Is radio 6 the classical music station?
@Adrian_Scope Yeah, the shakshuka was great yesterday. You give it a try one of these days.
My Sunday is just a bit reading and knitting. My partner is away this afternoon which is not always comfortable for me, but I am taking it in small parts and I am past the halfway point.

No, the last audio I listened to was Roger McGough many years ago.

Thanks for letting me gate-crash 😄
That would be Radio 3 (other stations are available). Radio 6 is indie rock - right now, John Cooper Clark is sitting in for Jarvis Cocker.
Tonight, we'll have this:
Hailu Mergia - Tche BelewPrepare yourself for a floor-filler from 1979s Addis Ababa as Stuart's featured album is the Ethiopian jazz funk groove of Hailu Mergia's Tche Belew

Is he back this evening @SmellyBin? What project do you have on your needles?
0 -
He is currently in the kitchen - every man's place, right 🤭I am knitting him a sweater, a lovely project that I don't have to think about too much. And I even did 5 min of spinning, a first for 2026 and very happy with that.
How are you today, @Adrian_Scope Getting ready to watch more football?
0 -
I hope he's whipping you up something tasty @SmellyBin?
Yep, first match is at 6pm (Germany vs Curaçao) and my young son is pleased it's early enough that he'll be able to watch too.

@smellybin how long have you been knitting? Hope you enjoy your tea 🙂

Exciting news for Team Curaçao - certain to thrash Germany 👍️

I really wish they would! It’s not looking good so far 😞
