Hello @mmyself
Congratulations on your new home. I know moving can be incredibly stressful but hopefully once this hard part is all done, you'll be able to feel settled and happy.
Have you asked the council if they are able to offer any help with moving costs or moving in general?
Do you have any friends, family or neighbours that may be help with the practical issues with moving, such as packing?
You may be able to apply for a Discretionary Housing Payment (DHP) which can help with moving costs or rent in advance.
In addition I also found this:
"Other ways your local council or government can help with moving costs
You may be able to get financial support towards your move from the government or your local council. This will depend on your circumstances and where you live. Keep in mind that these schemes are not just for people who need help with moving – anyone on a low income with unexpected or emergency expenses can also apply.
- In England, there’s the Local Welfare Assistance Scheme or Household Support Fund (these can be called different things in different areas but I believe all councils have them) – for more information, contact your local council.
- In Scotland, apply for the Scottish Welfare Fund.
- In Wales, apply for the Discretionary Assistance Fund."
