UC review - Do we both need to send statements for a joint account?
Hi,
Just a quick question. When we have to do a review for UC and send bank statements etc, if you are on a joint UC account and bank statements and savings accounts are in both our names, do we have to send information on my journal and my hubby's journal?

That's a good question @snuggles65! As far as I know, you both need to send the evidence even if that means that you'd be sending the same statements for your joint accounts. But I don't have direct experience of this, so I hope one of our members might have gone through it and can confirm how it worked for them.
If you're not too sure, you could try ringing our Helpline when it opens tomorrow. They may have a better answer for you than I can advise today. Sorry that I can't be of more help!

Hi @snuggles65. As @Rosie_Scope has said, I believe that you need to send evidence on both of your journals, even if it's the same for each of you. Then they'll have a record of evidence for each of you. Hope that helps.
If that turns out not to the case could you let us know please? It'll help others in a similar situation 😊

If the Universal Credit claim is a joint claim, either family member can complete the bank account information. There is an option to select who owns the account (for example, wife, husband, or a joint bank account).
If bank statements need to be uploaded or brought to the local office, only one set of statements is required. One person can submit all family members' bank statements. There is no need for each person to send them separately.
