Can you claim carers Allowance and ADP
Just looking for a bit of advice. I claim ADP, both Mobility and daily living, and my wife is my carer and gets carers allowance for me.
She has recently been diagnosed as having severe arthritis in both knees, and has been referred to both other orthopedics and physio therapy and will need at some point to have a knee replacement.
If she claims ADP for mobility will this affect her carers allowance ?, she can still walk (But with difficulty) and stand and cook etc.
Any help would be apricated as I don’t want her to claim it and then loose her carers allowance.
Many Thanks.

Hi @dan6161. Sorry to hear about your wife's diagnosis. I hope the treatment eases her pain.
She can claim both ADP and carer's allowance but you just need to be aware that they may question how she is able to provide 35 hours a week of care if she is claiming ADP. It'd be good to prepare for their questions and help them understand how she is able to care for you despite her mobility issues.
