UC review - capital and probate
Hi everyone βΊοΈ I'm new here nice to meet you all, π€ π my names Karen, and I had a routine review with C U it said check and confirm, is this something to worry about, also when I lost my mam, there's a will with my brother on it and myself, I've been through probate, but also I had a message in my journal stating that they had information that I had capital, I honestly had no idea, so I contacted citizens advice, and they said the only thing they could come up with was capital on my late mothers house.so i put it in my journal saying i honestly had no idea the house was capital on my side as my brother lives in the property at the moment I done probate over a year ago which another thing i didnt know that UC give 6 month from probate been over a year as I have no savings under the amount your allowed too have in your bank account, they wanted bank statements have 7 months of statements, they only wanted 6 but, give them 7, anyway they also have a copy of the probate, I'm so worried but I know now what the capital is thank you for reading I'm worried sick about all this xxx

Hi,
Do you share ownership of the property with your brother?
Is he on UC LCWRA or over pension age?
If you do own half of the property and he doesn't fit either of those categories then unfortunately you could lose UC due to the amount of capital in the property.
