The simple pleasure's in life Anhedonia2..No internet on it🙂 calls were £0.20p a minute and a text £0.10. That's all we needed.

I can't remember what version they introduced Snake, that was the start of it all changing. I did love Snake though!
You brought back memories of text character limits and needing to top up, not responding to friends as I needed to decide who to use my last 10 pence on 🤣

I had a Nokia 3210 with 'Snake' on it. It's funny, as my current phone is even more basic than that.

And no irriatating updates😂 Nokia invented the snake thing. Eventually went on to a Nokia 6630 and many more Nokia's eventually buying a Samsung, but that kept turning my texts into pictures. So I settled on a iphone in the end, but Id sooner not have any thats got the internet, but the damn doctor links her stuff to internet😈

I get my wife's cast offs and hardly use it. Six contacts and one of them is dead …

Nokia 3210 on Virgin PAYG for my 25th birthday.
And I had to have an adaptor for it to work my hearing aid.

Oh really? Is it choice or necessity? I've often thought about trading in my iPhone and going back to a simpler one. I would miss the ease of internet banking and things though. But maybe that's the addition to my phone talking!
I remember how impressed we all were when coloured screens became a thing, and photo messages! I take all of that for granted now.

Yep, that's the problem I have. Everything links to the phone now. Doctor app, children's school apps, mobile banking. I have a credit card for emergencies and only way to manage it now is via an app! They've done a good job at making us reliant on them.

My first was a Nokia as well. Think it was a 3310. Never really did get the point of a mobile phone but was gifted one by older relatives.
Was then encouraged to text my only two mates about inane rubbish each weekend… After a few weeks I found out one of them had given me the wrong number anyway. 🙄
Must admit, I am reliant on a smartphone nowadays. I couldn't do things like banking without one. Couldn't pay for grocery deliveries as I can't get anywhere to draw actual money out. Couldn't even access Universal Credit without one. I really don't like using it, and never use calls or texts now. Prefer to do as much as I can on the laptop instead.

I just don't see the point of having a smart phone, when I have a tablet. I would be talking on a data package or whatever, that I wouldn't use.

Ah that's true. I wonder if a tablet would make more sense for me too, it's not quite as convenient as a phone but more convenient than my laptop. Perhaps a good middle ground option!
