How Often Do You Shut Yourself Down To Keep The Peace?

Several Times A Week
I shut myself down several times a week even though I know it is bad for my health.
I hate confrontation and avoid it until I have no choice but to respond.
How do others deal with this?

Daily
Sometimes I have to literally bite my tongue in order not to say anything, depends what the situation is that's bugging me.

Unless there's going to be a practical improvement from a confrontation, I just don't see any point to it. I get more stress (and therefore worse physical symptoms) from confrontation than just not responding at all.
Unfortunately, losing my basic abilities in recent years means that I now have to engage with at least one relative that enjoys confrontation. I much preferred being able to complete tasks independently where I could avoid this kind of confrontation altogether, but those days are gone now.

Never
I never do as I always like to speak up for myself and for others when out of nowhere someone chooses to start being confrontational, what makes it worse is that they'll usually then start playing the victim once anyone does defend themselves, I've seen it happen so many times online (forums, comments sections, social media, etc) and in real life over the years. It's a shame that this is what some people enjoy doing as I much prefer peace and to get along with others.
Luckily (although not 100% without it's problems) the Scope forum is probably the friendliest forum I've ever been on, and I find that commendable.

Thank you @Bluebell21
It can also save our serenity which is good for our health. How important is it? Do they want peace?
