If specialist team how long did it take please ?
hi I have recently found out that uc didn’t know I was getting high rate care for my son and I didn’t know I had to inform them untill I joined a group so I contacted them to sort it and for back pay. That was accepted 5yrs back pay great news. The case worker called me told me how much said the money would be in the bank Monday this was 5weeks ago. I then had a call back an hour later saying she was sorry she can’t release the money they have made a separate error and not taken my oldest child off the child element or something and I’m owed ALOT more money she said I haven’t done anything wrong but owed more and it’s not letting her release the money so it’s over to the specialist team. Just wondering how long this takes please ? I l hope it’s not going to go on a long time

Ugh, are the DWP really this incompetent or do they just enjoy being annoying?

Hi @nikki985 gosh, that's a lot of faff - pleased it's a positive outcome though. It's hard to define the timescale exactly unfortunately as it depends on how backlogged the team are and how complex the error but hopefully it won't take too long now as you've been waiting for some time. Can you ask them next time you speak for an estimation?

Hi It’s so annoying I asked them at 4weeks if there were any updates and if they can give me a timescale, and they said unfortunately the specialist team don’t give them updates untill it’s done. It will be 6weeks next week I’ll ask again. I keep seeing others stories and some have gone on for a long time. The decision maker for the disabled element was so fast within days I had the call to say how much but the specialist team are what take so long I’m seeing

- I was just wondering if there’s anyone that’s been in the same situation and how long theirs took.. but it could be a back log as you said. Just really hope it doesn’t take months and months now.
