LCWRA and work

Looking for advice please

I currently receive LCWRA, was awarded in 2023 and was due a review in 2025 but still haven't heard anything so still claiming it. Also claim PIP.

However there is a local job for 15 hours per week, 42 weeks per year that I am considering applying for as its mainly solitary work (cleaner).

Let's say I am successful and get the job, will this trigger a reassessment? (mental health grounds so not sure the criteria on how it would contradict my claim?)

But also, if I am not able to maintain the employment and finish the job, how will this affect lcwra? What if they revoke my lcwra, how do I go about getting it again? 

Due to my living circumstances, I am due to be moving out into my own place soon, so would also have housing element to add into the stressful mix.

The whole process is stressful to think about and I'm not sure what to do.

    Hi,

    LCWRA is an ongoing award. It doesn't have regular reassessments even though they sometimes say a recommended reassessment date.

    Starting work shouldn't trigger a reassessment, but no-one can guarantee that 100%. It is a risk that you have to choose whether or not to take.

    When you start work you will have to declare that to UC. Depending on the type of payment, either the company will tell UC your earnings each month, or you will have to upload your own earnings to the online portal each month. If you can't manage the job and have to stop, then you just declare that to UC and your earnings will no longer affect your claim.

    If you lose LCWRA through reassessment then you can appeal via Mandatory Reconsideration. And if that fails then you can take it to Tribunal.

    As you're moving soon as well, my personal opinion would be to get that out of the way before attempting any work, but that is your choice, of course.
