Hi everyone.

Does anyone have any idea whether I keep the severe child disability premium for my child (enhanced rate daily living and mobility pip) and my lcwra on my UC claim?

I've researched but can only find can’t have carer element and lcwra.

Thanks.

Yes you will continue to receive disabled child element and the LCWRA element.

    Thank you Poppy.

Do you also know if, now my child's rate of PIP was raised to enhanced will the disabled premium be raised?

Sorry I don't know enough but I'm battling with them with all sorts at the moment. I'll probably be back with more questions as a lot of my benefits were affected because they stopped my PIP daily living.

With Enhanced daily living PIP that would mean you'll be entitled to the higher disabled child element.

hi just come across this feed and finding it really useful -

I’ve been advised today because I claim LCWRA for myself I can’t get the carers element for my son who’s been awarded DLA. (I’m a single claimant btw)

Just wondering whether I get the child disability payment ontop of the standard rate ? I notified UC back in May that he was awarded from April 2026 but haven’t yet recieved a statement which reflects changes to his disability or acknowledges his DLA although I’ve been advised it’s been processed?

& if entitled - Do UC backdate the child element ? (If they don’t do the carer element/allowance for me already in receipt of LCWRA for myself) specifically referring to since my son receiving DLA . Hope this makes sense

Yes your UC award will qualify for Disabled Child Element and this should be backdated.

If backdating is refused you can challenge that decision.

Backpay is dealt with seperately to your monthly payment.

You'll know when this has been done as a letter will be added to your Journal stating either the amount owed due to underpayment, or saying they have refused backpay.
