Day trips and Outings

I'm sure we all like Day trips and outings etc. What sort of places do you like to visit and what things do you like to see and do. For me Bus travel is part of every day life well not every day lol. I buy a West Yorkshire Day Saver for £6 and take to the buses around West Yorkshire. In fact my trip today is to the Lovely Market town of Hebden Bridge. Seeing as it's not going to be too hot I'll enjoy it better. I love the Fish and Chips there. I'll be on my way soon 3 buses to ride to get there. I love walking along the Canal as well. Hopefully it's Market day as well.

I'd love to visit Hebden Bridge @Johnboy412000 but it's like 5/6 hours away from me! It looks so beautiful😍 Are you hoping to buy anything in particular in the market?

£6 for a day rider sounds like really good value! Where else do you like to go in West Yorkshire?

I like looking around markets too, charity shops, cinema and trying new coffee shops. I also like learning about history of new places I visit and exploring new places outdoors (bonus points if they're near water!)🌻

I hope you enjoy your fish and chips and walk, it sounds like a lovely peaceful day😊

I went to the Corrie set in Salford many years ago. It was brilliant.

Thanks I did enjoy the Fish and Chips and a few big Crows flocked around so I kept throwing bits of fish to them including a Robin and a Thrush.

It wasn't market day. It is a beautiful place and at times in the Summer you can ride on the canal on a barge trip. Depending on your tastes you need a full day to see everything it has to offer. On a nice day it's nice down by the canal and also along the river. Best part is traffic can't get in certain places so no need to play dodge cars in the side streets lol.

It's good value and I get about all over. Usual haunts Huddersfield to Bradford to Leeds to Wakefield and back via Dewsbury and Huddersfield. Halifax is also a place I like to go and occasionally Pontefract. Train fares are not too bad either. I went to York earlier this year for £42 return and Rocdale for £16 return from Halifax. Didn't like Rochdale much cos of the long walk from the Train station to the Town Centre. Ought to have hopped on a tram had I known lol. Then there's Hebden Bridge and Todmordon. I'm Blackpool bound in September for my birthday. Just a couple of nights to see the Illuminations. There's memories there as my late wife used to love going there. We usually went for Mon to Fri in the summer.

It sounds like you have been to a lot of diffrent places @Johnboy412000! Do you have any favourites? What would your top recommendation be?

I'd quite like to visit Halifax @Johnboy412000, I watched Gentleman Jack a few years ago and that's based on true story in Halifax and the history was fascinating.

The trip to Blackpool sounds lovely, it sounds like a really special place for you and I hope you have a wonderful time😊

Apparently we're going to London Zoo on the 21st of July.

Need to leave probably before 8 AM to allow for the traffic to get there by 12 PM.

Should be a laugh, and I'll get plenty of photos (which I may upload)

Hope you have a great time. Need more than 4 hours from Sheffield surely. The M1 can be a nightmare at the best of times.

The last time I was at London Zoo, the youngest lay on the ground having a tantrum, right outside the giraffe shed. My ex wife used to let them both get on with it, even if it went on over an hour. She was a right little madam, used to bang her head on the floor too. (2yo 'G', not my ex wife). 😁

That's why we'll probably be leaving earlier than 8 AM.
