I’ve seen posts on fb that they are stopping pip for people with mental health, autism and adhd

I received a txt about 5 weeks ago telling me my review is with the assessment team, was due a review in 2025, it’s like they are holding out so they can stop my pip

Hi @apples, that must have been very worrying to read, but it's not true. Information can spread quite fast on Facebook and it's not always correct. The interim report mentioned that there has been a growth in claims listing those sorts of conditions, but nothing has been confirmed about what might change in the future yet and PIP cannot act on anything that isn't confirmed by the government.

Reviews can take a long time at the moment and these long waits are happening across many claims where people have all sorts of conditions. So please don't be worried that they're doing this to specifically stop your PIP.

Thank you for your reply. I've since been granted an extension for my PIP, of three years, which is a big relief. I retire in December 2029. I have major mental health issues, so this is all a relief. I don't know what the Timms Review will have caused assessments to look like in 2029, which would be likely when I get another review but I'm not worrying about it now.

Thank you for your help and thank everyone else for their comments.

Most of what's posted on FB is complete and utter bobbins.

    Don't trust it.

Indeed, they just want to cut the MASSIVE welfare Bill somehow, and if certain people suffer as a result, they'll do 2 things about it, chuff all and nowt.
