hi I have been awarded lcwra , I put my first sick note in on the 5th march and my payday is on the 29th of every month and was wondering when I should start to receive it.Also I was receiving lcwra as a single person up until January this year when I made a joint claim for myself and my partner so does this mean it would start from scratch or could it possibly continue to roll over as I’m not sure how it works

    Do you mean your UC claim overall changed from single to joint?

    That won't effect your LCWRA award it will now apply to your joint claim.

    LCWRA element has a waiting period of three full assessment periods before LCWRA becomes payable.

    No money is paid or subsequently owed for that period.

    If your partner already gets LCWRA then no extra money will be paid.

    If you are due payment for LCWRA element, backpay is dealt with seperately to your monthly payment and this takes several weeks at least.

    You'll know when this has been done as a letter will be added to your Journal stating the amount owed due to underpayment. New versions of your statements will be added. The money will then be paid within a few working days.
