Could anyone clarify some details for me wrt 'confirming claim details'?

I've been claiming UC for years at this point. This is the first time I've gotten a To-Do asking me to confirm my claim details. There are a few things that I'm a little confused about, so it would be great if anyone here could clarify them for me!

  • in the 'where you live and what it costs' section, it says 'you live with close relatives' - true. In the 'children and other people living with you' section it says 'you have no other people living with you'. I'm not sure if this is incorrect, bc people do live with me (parents and an adult sibling), or 'people living with you' in this context means dependents? (In which case it is correct)

  • the 'work and earnings' section lists a bunch of things, and I can't tell if they're in chronological order or if they're speaking for the present moment? One says, '[my name] has stopped working in the past 9 months,' which is not true now, but perhaps was when I made the claim? But then it also says '[my name] stopped working on 31st March 2020' (correct) so those are contradictory now.

  • it also says '[my name] is expecting to receive £108 from previous employment in the next month.' Again, not true now but maybe was when I made the claim? So I don't know whether these details should be considered correct or not

    Hi @mangofrog. They want to know your current details so anything that is now incorrect will need to be changed. Have you ever submitted a Change of Circumstances? If they still believe that you're in employment you may be getting the wrong amount.

    Thank you both, that's really helpful!

    I have submitted Changes of Circumstance before and have had multiple claim reviews in which my current circumstances have been discussed. They definitely know I'm not in employment anymore, so some of those statements (ie 'stopped working in the last 9 months') still being there are a bit confusing.

    Thank you Rachel, I also replied above but forgot to quote.

    I just have another question, regarding the 'Living with other people' section. I did state that those details were incorrect since I do technically live with 3 non-dependents (my parents and adult sibling).

    I did some research and it sounds like this section is related to housing costs. In the housing situation section it's long been stated that I live with close relatives and don't pay any rent or housing costs.

    The research I've read says that every other non-dependent you live with will result in £96 being removed from your housing costs. Since I don't receive housing costs I'm unsure if they need to be put on my claim, and am concerned that if I list them they'll mistakenly deduct money from my claim.

    Of course they are now asking me to change my circumstances in the 'Living with other people' section, but I'm unsure if that's the right thing to do.

    Can you advise?

    Your parents and sibling are not your non dependants.

    You are your parents non dependant.

    They are doubly not relevant to your claim:

    You don't receive Housing Element

    They aren't your non dependants.

    Okay…so does that mean I shouldn't have said that I live with other people? I wish they made this clearer.
