My award extended
Just has a lovely letter through saying my award is extended to 2031, I reach pension age before this . This is such good news as I was due a review next April , and the letter says it may even extend it again .
Anyone else had this good news ? I do hope so . Happy days ! 😀

I was due for review this September. I've had letter extending mine to 2033. I'm 67 yo and my claim is due to serious leg injury from a fall. Looking on Benefits and Work site nobody has an extension as long as me. Any ideas on why me?

That's great news @sarah_lea12! Quite a few people have had their PIP extended too. It's to help the DWP cope with the backlog of work.
@Hotfinch1 welcome to the community! I couldn't say why yours is a longer extension as I'm not sure how they decide. I'm sure it's a relief not to have to worry about it for so long.

Thank you , its taken a lot of stress from my life for sure , today was an amazing day , I got the letter saying my PIP is extended and might be again , and also got confirmation my new wet room is being started next Monday , happy days for sure :)

@sarah_lea12 Hello :) I’m so happy for you that you received this extension and that it has removed stress and worry for you! It is a wonderful relief for sure. I also got mine extended recently and the relief was enormous. I’m really glad to read your positive news too :)

I'm very pleased for you.
My partner had an extention letter recently, taking him to past retirement age.
His review was due in August 2027

Yes it is, because after that we generally tend to get a "light touch" review form to just confirm whether or not our circumstances have changed so its not a full reassessment.
