I am 80 years old and recieve my state pension and a small amount of my late husband’s pension, I recieve attendance allowance . My 60 year old son receives universal credit and looks after me 35 hours a week and receives the carers element. Does that mean I can’t receive pension credit

No this won't affect your Pension Credit.

    Hello @jisobel

If your son claims the Carer's Element for caring for you, it means you cannot receive the Severe Disability Premium (SDP) within Pension Credit, which may affect your entitlement. Without knowing your full circumstances, it's not possible to say whether you would qualify for SDP or how much Pension Credit you may be entitled to.

You can check the eligibility criteria and use the Government's calculator to see whether you might qualify.

It may also be worth speaking to a trained benefits adviser for a full benefits check. They can make sure you're receiving everything you're entitled to and help work out whether you would be better off if your son did not claim the Carer's Element for caring for you.

Both Carers Element (Universal Credit) and Carers Allowance cannot be claimed if you are over state pension age.

    Attendance Allowance is a possibility.
