Hi. I am looking for recommendations for a small educational setting for ADHD (possible ASD/Aspergers) 13y.o in the North Northamptonshire area with an EHCP.

I have 15 days to name a setting and haven't got a clue how to navigate this in the small time frame

Hi @MrsG75, welcome to the community. That sounds stressful! Our community is UK wide, but I hope one of our members might be able to help with some suggestions.

Does your son receive any support for his ADHD at the moment, or is he involved in any peer groups? If you go to any support, or groups or activities, it may be worth a try asking there to see what schools his peers go to.

I found this searchable directory that might be of use to you: SEND Schools & Services in Northamptonshire North | JakTrack SEND Directory

Otherwise, you could also try asking on local Facebook or community groups to see if anyone local can recommend any schools from personal experience with them.

Sorry that I can't be of more help personally today, but best of luck finding a suitable place for your son. I hope he can find the support he needs to thrive ☺️

Hi @MrsG75, did you managed to get somewhere sorted in the end? 😊

If he has problems, you'll probably be better off Home schooling the lad IMO, this is coming from someone who went through 11 PAINFUL years of SEN Education back in the 80s and early 90s.

SEN Education was BAD back then, and is allegedly even worse nearly 40 years later.
