Universal Credit to-do list

in Universal Credit (UC)

Hi there I am my son's Official Appointee he has severe learning difficulties and I'm so worried i just had text and email from UC to say there was something to do in the to-do list.

I had to go through a list of questions asking if things were the same really. I'm worried I've done something wrong or do they do this sometimes.

Andrew started his UC claim in September 2025 after migrating from Esa

Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

    Hey @teresasue

    It can be quite normal for them to reach out from time to time and ask if anything has changed so try not to worry. It's a bit different to the old ESA and they do review in case of general changes a little more often.

    What sort of questions were they? Often they're asking about whether savings or income has change or about housing and who lives with the claimant.

    They will let you know if they need anything else from you. 😊

    Personal name and addresses still same Yes or No

    Do you live with a spouse or partner

    Yes it No

    Does 2 people still live with you said my name and birthdate and his father's too

    Still same Yes or No

    Any Housing costs Yes or No

    Going to do any self employed work etc Yes or No

    Not working Yes or No

    Same bank details where UC is paid into and said a figure £328 or similar in account Yes or No

    The amount in his bank account slightly less this week it goes up and down but I answered Yes same as I looked but nowhere for me so say slightly different amount but they asking if same bank account details so that's why I answered yes

    Sorry can't remember any more. Please tell me this is a normal type of enquiry and I haven't done it wrong

    Does anyone know if this is the usual type of enquires they do please as I'm worried something is wrong

    Hi thank you for replying. The one thing I was worried about was I answered yes to the bank account section at the end. But if course the amount they showed was the amount when he opened his UC claim?

    I went into journal and said sorry I explained I couldn't find where to answer correct amount and told them the new amount.

    I hope this won't upset everything have I done right thing do you think please I worried now

    Hi,

    As you answered yes, nothing else will happen. It only really matters if he has more than £6000.

    If you do need to update savings amounts in future then that is done through the 'Make a Change' section in the portal. Scroll to the bottom and there is a section for changes to money, savings and income etc.

    Hi thanks for replying have i done the right thing by putting in the journal that i made a mistake as the bank account amount was different and i told them the correct amount! Hoping i haven't stirred things up bit worried. Hopefully this is a general check up and everything is ok

    UC didn't even reply to my journal messages so I wouldn't worry about it. If they read yours they should just change the amount from their end and that will be the end of it.

    They might send another message to confirm but I would be very surprised if they ask for bank statements over such a small change below £6k.

    This is just a standard UC claim check so nothing to worry about with that.
