Can anyone recommend a fairly cheap compact digital camera?
Above.
I need a new camera to take to Comic cons and stuff, I realise I could just use my phone, but I prefer a proper camera.
I've had a look on Amazon, and Curry's (PC World) and they have some good ones but they're expensive.
Can anyone help?

Thanks, but nobody uses the "old school" Film based cameras any more, everything's digital.

Have you tried a local Cex Shop or second hand shop near you. They can have really good stuff for alot lower price + come with some warranty.

I'm considering that later this week, depends if I have any money left by Friday.
London's an expensive place (where we're going tomorrow, I Googled the Zoo last week, £14 for a basic meal? EH?!)

How much money are you willing to spend? For example, the GoPro is a versatile camera with many uses.

Ideally, £30 maximum.

I have an Olympus Tough TG-TG-6.

This is very little money, you can’t buy a good camera for it; it’s better to take photos and videos with a smartphone.

OK, I can stretch to £35, and even that's pushing the envelope a bit.

Your best trying to find a decent second-hand one for that price, as getting a new one will limit you down to not very good cameras.

I reckon second hand is a good shout too @SheffieldMan1976. You can probably get much more for your money buying something used.
Vinted or eBay can be good for this sort of thing. I've found some good deals on there in the past ☺️

They'd got a Film based camera at CEX but nobody uses Film any more, everything's digital.

The problem with second (or even third) hand hardware is that it has no warranty so if it breaks you've 'ad it.

As has already been said, if your budget is so low, you are better sticking with the camera on your phone.

Depends where you buy it from, some second hand shops offer warranty with electrical goods.

Yeah you need a digital not a film camera.
