Going on Holiday using PIP/UC?

Above.

Rumour has it we're going down to Great Yarmouth in September for a few days for a short holiday, myself, another resident and 2 staff.

We would've been going next month, towards the end of August but it works out considerably cheaper to go in September when the bin lids are back in full time compulsory education.

So anyway, would I be allowed to use my PIP/UC to pay for the Holiday? Rumour has it the new PM, Andy Burnham, is changing the rules soon to say no.

I honestly wouldn’t worry about it, It would infringe on our human rights if they put such a policy in place. The main rule with both UC & PIP is that you have to notify both departments if you go overseas for longer than four weeks.

I myself will be flying to Turkey late 2028, an area I been a few times. It would be my first time abroad alone and also where I have had to book assistance with Tui at both Ringway (Manchester) Dalaman Airports. Wheelchair from entering the Terminal to my seat on the plane at both ends of my journey. What is great is the hotel I am staying at has Accessible Rooms properly set up for people of all disabilities.

I am interested in visiting places such as IWM Duxford or Harry Potter World and Chester Zoo all of which would take a lot of planning and assistance alongside overnight stays.

Yeah you're able to spend your money on a holiday @SheffieldMan1976 😊 Have you been to Great Yarmouth before?

I hope you have a lovely holiday @Rag_793, that's a beautiful photo! It sounds like you've made a really solid plan for it!

We've been before Mary, LONG time ago though, probably mid to late 80s.

Originally we were going down to Chapel St Leonards but they discovered Great Yarmouth would be considerably cheaper, staying in a 4 Berth Caravan I think.
