Unfortunately, the waiting list for houses is extremely long at the moment, sorry to hear you have already been waiting years.
Has husband had an OT assessment yet? This can be really in gathering more evidence for the reasons why a bungalow is the only suitable property for your husband. Here is more information on housing options for disabled people that I hope will be helpful😊0 -
If it's been years I'd suggest contacting the housing team to refresh your application circumstances, to see if you can get more points or a higher band.

Unfortunately bungalows are in short supply and you may eventually be offered a disabled accessibility flat, either ground floor or where a lift is available.
