DWP HELP!
good evening,
so this is a long one buckle up! I am a single mother to 3 small ladies and I receive universal credit (I also still work 24 hours a week as a manager in a supermarket and receive £1300 monthly).
I have just been asked to upload the 4 months back statements and my tenancy agreement and bills in my name. No problem did all that.
the issue is, my ex is till on the old tenancy agreement I just never though to change it. So I told my journal about this and they said that’s fine upload that and ask landlord for a new one so that’s in the works and I’ll upload that when it comes. They are happy with this.
the issue is that my ex still helps me financially. I receive a varied amount of child maintenance every month (£150-210) depends on his monthly wage and some months this payment it includes financial help on top of the maintenance to go towards my bills to ensure they go out. Then when I get my UC I pay him back the financial help that works out as the difference from child maintenance payment. (Eg. Paid me £400 but £210 child main so I refund him £190) so now I’m worried that this looks wrong and I’ll be flagged up for this. As it’s not each month, last month I got a flat rate of £150 for my girls. I also receive money from him for split costs for the girls uniform or shoes coats, treats if me and girls are out etc.
He also helps me with cash financial help if I’m low on cash at that time, but I will pay it back. I also send money to him for if I’ve borrowed on any clearpays (I have a hair extension addiction) stupid I know but I pay it back as a debt I owe.
but I’ve never had to send them before now I don’t know how I’ll explain this to anyone without it sounding stupid!
we are still friends so we are always open to help each other out!!
from now on I have stated to him that we will transfer ONLY the child maintenance monthly that’s all.
What do I do?

Hi @beth_leyland94 i think if you're borrowing and paying back, it should be fine as they can see that from your statements. It's nice you two still help each other out as well. 😊

Hi,
I don't think there will be any issue with this.
Most people get a follow up phone call to discuss any unusual transactions so you can just explain it to them as you have done to us.

hey,
I hope I get a response. I now have a phone call interview about the claim review and I’m worried? I don’t know what more evidence I can give or what they will ask?
never had this before so my anxiety is getting the better of me and i have to wait 3 weeks for it!
anyone had one before that can help?Thank you

Standard procedure is for them to ask for statements etc, then there is a telephone interview.
They'll run through a series of scripted questions (looking for undeclared capital) then ask any questions they have about your statements.
Occasionally, a second phone call is then done if they need to clarify anything.
See this thread for several experiences.
