If that Brazillian Jiu Jitsu trial next week's any good...

Should I pack Taekwondo in favour of BJJ as I don't think I could afford to do both, nor would Nat sanction the travelling from Woodhouse to Neepsend on a Thursday.

I'd rather not pack TKD as I've made a few good friends there and the teacher's a right nice bloke, which is more valuable than even the physical exercise it gives me.

Seems like there's a lot of things to consider! Maybe see how it goes at your trial and if you really like it you can make the decision then. Could you talk to the staff in advance to see if they'd be able to support you to go to the BJJ classes?

Perhaps there's a goal you'd like to meet for your Taekwondo, then you could consider moving on to BJJ once you've achieved it. For example, making it to a particular belt colour or rank first. That takes the pressure off deciding right now and gives you something to work towards. It does sound like your Taekwondo group has been very supportive, so I can see why it might be sad leaving that behind.

    I'll have a word.

I'll also do some Googling re the cost of the BJJ lessons, to see if my finance company COULD stretch to both.

£99 a month? Pardon? I think I'm going to cancel the trial next week, if I can't afford to pay for the lessons it's not worth going to the trial, even if it is free.

That's a shame @SheffieldMan1976, but that's definitely expensive! At least that helps with the decision about switching from Taekwondo. Even if it's not in the way you hoped.

I've sent a text to Gracie Barra, no response yet, although to be fair they're probably in class.

I've also sent an email to my finance company to see if they possibly COULD stretch to both, but seeing as the manager is one of these unfortunate people with the communication skills of a Sheep who doesn't respond to messages unless they want summat….
